Hyundai Australia has added the brand’s ‘Bluelink’ package to its Tucson mid-size SUV line-up, the new tech delivering a broad suite of connected car services, at the same time adding $500 to the price of the mid-range Elite grade and top-spec Highlander models.
The entry-level Tucson doesn’t pick up Bluelink and its price is unchanged.
Debuting locally with the Palisade in early 2022, and offered on the Venue Elite from January this year, Bluelink incorporates more than a dozen key features from voice recognition and weather reports to a ‘Vehicle Health’ diagnostic function and Cloud back-ups.
Other features include ‘Automatic Collision Notification’, a back-to-base contact made automatically following an impact where airbags are deployed, as well as ‘Connected Routing’ which leverages the system’s cloud server to power up the navigation system with ‘pattern data’ (using information patterns to identify and predict conditions).
A valet mode uses PIN security to limit access to multimedia functions and remotely monitor vehicle status, calendar syncing is also included, as is ‘Destination Send-to-Car’ (where a trip set up on the app can be sent to the car ready for take-off) and ‘Last Mile Navigation’ (users can seamlessly continue their in-car route via smartphone guidance on foot).
Bluelinks adds features such as ‘Automatic Collision Notification’ and ‘Connected Routing’.
Bluelink is complimentary for the first five years of ownership, and is transferable to subsequent owners within that period.
Hyundai says all other features and specifications across the 2023 Tucson range are unchanged from the 2022 model year.
