Bagel Bites Beat

My shoulders are feeling something today. Not sure if it’s from so many snatches and/or bar muscle-ups on Wednesday or the double overhead holds yesterday. Went to the 4pm class.

Warm-up

Wasted some time putting pants away and another time putting my sweatshirt away. Still made it through 4 rounds plus the carry.

I averaged around a 1:49 pace on the rower and took right off on my lunges. Felt good on the burpees and tried to push on the bike a little. My rounds were 4:33, 4:34, and 4:35. Good one to just go and don’t stop.

Gymnastics

As I’ve been doing with the gymnastics volume lately my plan was to go until I had to break. I made 3 rounds taking 35-40 seconds to get through and then had to do 5-5-3-1-1 in the 4th round. Sixty T2B in just over 5 minutes ain’t too bad.

Side to Side

My triceps have been a little sore from Murph. Out in the garage late in the afternoon.

Warmed up with 8/8 single leg deadlifts using 45-95-125 pounds.

Workout – 4 Sets (2x each leg)

  • 45s Bent Knee Hollow Body Hold

I used 145# for the first set on each leg and then 165#, which was about a max for that many reps.

Active Life – Back Max

Did them in the driveway instead of the garage so I could go 10 meters straight. Instead of 10 full minutes I stopped at 12 rounds (6 each side), which was 9:10 on the clock.

Doing Singles

Went to the 4:30 class.

I did the KB deadlifts and push-ups in place of heavy deadlifts, especially with more reps coming up in the WOD. Then did 3x5x135# deadlift to warm-up for the metcon.

Had my belt on even though I don’t like it for the rowing. I went through 8 unbroken and then switched to quick singles because the eccentric part of the lift was feeling weird. Something I’d never do, but will try to protect my back at all costs now. I didn’t think I’d get through the 22 calories so I threw off my belt. Got through and knocked out a TnG set of 5 deadlifts to finish up.

Poor Effort

Was able to golf yesterday with no back issues in the swing. Could feel it a bit walking around, but nothing that affected my game. My legs are surprisingly sore from early in the week. Went to the 4:30 class.

Warm-up

I used 45# for 2 sets, 75 for 2 sets, and 95 for the last. Class was then going to an EMOM of heavy C&J singles, so I did the weekly challenge instead.

Weekly Challenge

Yep, the new owner, Greg, bought an Assault Bike for the gym. I tried to pace myself out, which didn’t work at all. That thing is completely different from my Airdyne AD2. I was doing about 82-83 RPM and my legs were blown out half way through. I only got 42 calories and then did 49 lunges. After some recovery I decided to go for 30 seconds since everyone was still on the lifts. My legs were blown out by 15 seconds! I got 28 calories though, which goes to show you have to go out hard and just hang on I think to get a good score. Maybe I’ll try it again tomorrow or Sunday.

I was still not recovered from the AB, so my burpees were slowwww! Snatches were slower than normal because I could feel my back a bit. I finished in 5:14.
