Went to the 9am today, which was the only class.

Conditioning

Partner Workout

  • 400-300-200-100m Run (1 person running with 20# MB)
  • 40-30-20-10 Push Presses (95#)
  • 40-30-20-10 Front Squats (95#)
  • 40-30-20-10 MB Sit-up Passes (20#)

Teamed up with Weston. I started with the MB and we split each run down the middle. In the round of 40 we alternated sets of 10 with the barbell. Then each did 15 during the round of 30 and 10 during the round of 20. I did all 10 push presses in the final round and he did the front squats. We finished in 17:03.

Bonus

A few hours later I walked 18 holes and shot great again with a 78. Now I’m exhausted because it’s so damn muggy.

On Tuesday I traveled back from up north and chilled for my 38th birthday. Yesterday I ended up getting busy organizing some areas of the house and putting together a big haul of clothes to donate. So it ended up being another rest day. Went to the 4:30 class today.

I only did 5 of the Pallof Presses at each of the 4 positions today, so ended up being 20 per round total instead of the ridiculousness that was 5 series of 3 per position. In the last round of evil wheels I slowed down on each rep. Need to start doing that all the time.

I 3 and then 3-3 C&J and then singles the rest of the way. Went unbroken through 9 toes to bars and then 7-5. Made it through 14 of the 15 clean and jerks, which is 1 fewer than the last time, over 2 years ago, and 8 reps shy of my best. I could improve my score by not taking that half step or so back after each rep with the barbell. Could have pushed to do the 12 T2B unbroken as well.

I had some nasty “Fran lung” after this one.

I did 10 sit-ups every round for a total of 120 and was able to stay on the wall for every 20 second block. I was putting my hands really close to the wall and able to keep my balance too. This did fry my low back.

I expected the handstand push-ups to be terrible for that many reps, but it wasn’t that bad. I did 3 sets of 10 and then 6-7-7 to finish at about 3:40. I didn’t stop moving on the box jumps but there were slow as I was taking a step or two back each time I came down. I think I finished at 8:32. I did 5 on each arm before dropping the kettlebell for 3 sets of 10 and then finished up the last 20 without putting it down. Never stopped on sit-ups. On the lunges I went 13 right, short rest, 13 left, short rest and then the same with 12s. Finished at 17:52.
